Applies Thermodynamics Laboratory

Thermodynamics is the branch of physical science concerned with heat and its relation to other forms of energy and work. It defines macroscopic variables (such as temperature, entropy, and pressure) that describe average properties of material bodies and radiation, and explains how they are related and by what laws they change with time. Thermodynamics does not describe the microscopic constituents of matter, and its laws can be derived from statistical mechanics. Lab consist of Steam power plant, Bomb calorimeter, Multistage Compressor Test rig etc.

Metrology laboratory

The Metrology laboratory is equipped with some of the accurate measuring instruments such as Tool Makers Microscope, Optical Profile Projector, Electronic & Pneumatic Comparators, Surface Roughness Tester, Dial indicator with Mini-Processor for SPC and a wide variety of accurate micrometers, verniercalipers and standard gauges.
The college has committed itself to develop this lab, to cater to the consultancy needs of the fast developing industrial fraternity of the area. Lab consist of UTM , Rockwell cum Brinell Hardness Tester ,Compression testing machine ,Binocular Microscopes etc.

Theory of Machines Laboratory

The subject Theory of Machines may be defined as that branch of Engineering – Science, which deals with the study of relative motion between the various parts of machine, and forces which act on them. The knowledge of this subject is very essential for an engineer in designing the various parts of a machine. Lab Consists of Compound Pendulum Apparatus, Bifilar Suspension Apparatus, Trifilar Suspension Apparatus, Hooks Joint Angular measurement apparatus etc.

Internal Combustion Engine Laboratory

The internal combustion engine is an engine in which the combustion of a fuel (normally a fossil fuel) occurs with an oxidizer (usually air) in a combustion chamber. In an internal combustion engine, the expansion of the high-temperature and high -pressure gases produced by combustion apply direct force to some component of the engine.
This force is applied typically to pistons, turbine blades, or a nozzle. This force moves the component over a distance, transforming chemical energy into useful mechanical energy. Lab consists of Multi Cylinder Petrol Engine Test Set up, Computerized Single Cylinder 4 stroke diesel Engine Test Set up, Exhaust 5 Gas Analyzer etc. This force is applied typically to pistons, turbine blades, or a nozzle. Electrical engineering technology (EET) is an engineering technology field that implements and applies the principles of electrical engineering. The role of electrical engineering technologists, or technicians, (EETs) may be broadly defined as: “Electrical engineering technologists help to design, develop, test, and manufacture electrical and electronic equipment [and] may work in product evaluation and testing, using measuring and diagnostic devices to adjust, test, and repair equipment”.
Lab consists of DC Shunt Motor load test set up, DC Series Motor load test set up, V-I Characteristics of SCR and TRAIC, Three Phase Induction Motor load Test set up, Variable DC rectifier etc.

Fluid Mechanics Laboratory

careerFluid mechanics is the study of fluids and the forces on them. (Fluids include liquids, gases, and plasmas.) Fluid mechanics can be divided into fluid statics, the study of fluids at rest; fluid kinematics, the study of fluids in motion; and fluid dynamics, the study of the effect of forces on fluid motion.It is a branch of continuum mechanics, a subject which models matter without using the information that it is made out of atoms, that is, it models matter from a macroscopic viewpoint rather than from a microscopic viewpoint. Lab consists of Bernoullis Theorem apparatus, Venturimeter, Orificemeter, Rotameter Calibration Setup , Reynold’s apparatus Calibration of Notches apparatus, Losses in Pipe Fittings setup etc.
